Lead HVAC Service Technician

Residential & Light Commercial

Raleigh, North Carolina

A fast-growing HVAC startup in the Raleigh market is seeking an experienced Lead HVAC Service Technician to join its expanding team. This position is ideal for a high-performing technician who enjoys mentoring others, delivering exceptional customer service, and helping build a strong service department from the ground up. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential HVAC service along with experience working on light commercial equipment. Leadership capabilities, professionalism, and strong diagnostic skills are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

· Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential and light commercial HVAC systems

· Service air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, package units, mini-splits, and rooftop units

· Perform preventative maintenance and system inspections

· Communicate repair recommendations clearly and professionally with customers

· Mentor and assist junior technicians in the field

· Support the continued growth and development of the service department

· Maintain accurate service documentation and invoicing

· Ensure all work is completed safely and up to company standards

· Participate in ongoing training and technical development

Qualifications

· Minimum 5+ years of HVAC service experience

· Strong residential troubleshooting and diagnostic experience required

· Light commercial HVAC experience preferred

· EPA Certification required

· Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

· Strong customer service and communication skills

· Leadership mindset with the ability to help train and guide others

· Experience using tablets, dispatching software, or Housecall Pro is a plus

· Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment

Compensation & Benefits

· $28–$40/hour based on experience
