Travel Nurse RN - Labor and Delivery - $2,117 per week

Job Details Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a 13‑week assignment in Austin, Texas. The position offers 12‑hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, and starts as soon as possible. Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Duration: 13 weeks Hours: 36 per week (12‑hour night shifts) Employment Type: Travel nursing Responsibilities Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns. Administer prescribed medications and treatments following obstetric nursing protocols. Prepare equipment and assist physicians during labor, delivery, and examinations. Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn. Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care. Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care. Respond to obstetric emergencies (preeclampsia, hemorrhage, fetal distress) using evidence‑based protocols. Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes. Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results. Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures. Comply with all regulatory standards, hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing. Required Qualifications One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN. Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations. Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC). Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. Preferred Qualifications AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification. STABLE and ACLS certifications (AHA/ARC). Additional certifications and licenses as required for the position.
