We are seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer to join our engineering organization and help deliver innovative software solutions that support critical aerospace and defense missions. This position may support technologies and capabilities including secure communications, mission systems, cybersecurity, autonomous systems, embedded software, software modernization, DevSecOps, and other advanced aerospace and defense solutions. Sign-on Bonus Eligible What You Will Do Lead software engineering activities throughout the software lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture, design, development, integration, testing, deployment, modernization, sustainment, and/or related engineering efforts. Develop, implement, and enhance software solutions, technologies, products, systems, processes, standards, and/or capabilities across a variety of mission areas. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, customers, stakeholders, vendors, and/or engineering disciplines to define requirements, solve technical challenges, and deliver mission-critical capabilities. Apply expert technical knowledge and domain expertise to solve highly complex challenges and deliver innovative software solutions that support customer and business objectives. Support the development of scalable, maintainable, reusable, and/or secure software solutions that meet program, customer, and operational requirements. Drive system integration, verification, validation, troubleshooting, test, deployment, and/or operational support activities to ensure high-quality software performance, functionality, and reliability. Influence technical direction, engineering strategies, software architectures, and program outcomes through the application of deep software engineering expertise. Communicate technical concepts, recommendations, risks, and program status to audiences ranging from engineering teams to customers and executive leadership. Lead significant technical efforts, initiatives, and/or projects while serving as a subject matter expert and technical authority within their discipline. Qualifications You Must Have Experience developing software applications, systems, or solutions using programming languages such as C/C++, Java, or similar languages. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience. Qualifications We Prefer Active and transferable Secret or Top Secret U.S. government issued security clearance. Experience developing, integrating, testing, deploying, sustaining, and/or supporting software-based products, systems, platforms, and/or capabilities. Experience with Linux, embedded software, real-time operating systems, DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, SAFe), automated testing frameworks, and/or related software development environments. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, secure software development practices, software assurance methodologies, requirements analysis and decomposition, systems integration, verification and validation, and/or related engineering disciplines. Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), UML, SysML, software architecture and design, requirements-driven development methodologies, and/or related systems engineering practices. Experience supporting mission-critical, safety-critical, and/or regulated software development environments (e.g., DO-178 or similar standards). The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
