Position Summary: Flying A Pipe is seeking an experienced Oilfield Tubular CNC Operator. The CNC operator handles the computer numerical control machine. Maintaining, setting, and adjusting the machine are all part of the operator's daily tasks. This includes knowledge of the software and hardware of the machine. The CNC operator processes materials and performs functions like drilling, cutting, and shaping steel.

Key Roles / Responsibilities:

• Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, and orthographic drawings.
• Takes inventory by checking stock to determine the amount available, anticipated stock, and placing orders.
• Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points.
• Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, and attachments.
• Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
• Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces.
• Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing operations.
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
• Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions.
• Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
• Assists in other areas of the shop as needed based on workload and operational needs.

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Must have at least 1 year of oilfield pipe threading experience.
• Must have the ability to operate yard equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Must have the ability to operate CNC mills.
• Must have great computer and technical skills.
• Must have good attention to detail.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with supervisor and team members.

Working Conditions:

• Bending, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling, sitting stand, walk, kneel, stoop, squat, pull, push, climb, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and see and standing (occasionally) for long periods of time.
• The essential duties of this position require moderate to heavy lifting and carrying.
• Must be able to position oneself to work in confined spaces such as trenches, pits, manholes, attics, and tunnels and demonstrate manual dexterity and be able to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Exposure to moderate noise levels, vibrations, and bright lights; and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases; and all climate types including hot and cold temperatures, humidity, rain, snow, etc.
• Able to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection and hard hats when needed.
• React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.
• Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.
• Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.
• Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.
• Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
