Role Description:

As an Appraisal Desk Specialist at ARDRI, you will serve as the central liaison between our lending operations, appraisal management companies (AMCs), and brokers. This position is responsible for managing the ordering, tracking, reviewing, and issue resolution of appraisals to ensure compliance with investor, regulatory, and internal guidelines. Key responsibilities include AMC onboarding, managing appraisal pipelines, resolving issues, and providing regular updates and insights to brokers. You will be the main point of contact for appraisals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mortgage banking, excellent communication skills, and a customer-centric approach that is flexible and professional.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the point of contact for appraisal-related inquiries from internal team members, brokers, and AMCs.
• Coordinate and manage appraisal orders through approved AMCs or direct assignments (if applicable).
• Review appraisal orders for accuracy and completeness; ensure property type, borrower, and loan program data are provided.
• Track and monitor appraisal turn times and follow up with AMCs or brokers to avoid delays in the loan process.
• Conduct preliminary quality control checks on completed appraisals for compliance with USPAP, FIRREA, and investor-specific requirements.
• Flag valuation concerns, comparable issues, or data inconsistencies and escalate to underwriting or compliance when necessary.
• Collaborate with underwriting and credit risk to resolve value disputes or reconsideration of value (ROV) requests.
• Maintain up-to-date records of appraisal invoices, payments, and status in ARDRI Hub and LOS.
• Provide timely and accurate updates, both verbally and written to brokers and their borrowers regarding appraisal status and requirements.
• Assist in managing AMC relationships and performance reporting.
• Adhere to all applicable internal, external, and stay informed of appraisal regulatory updates.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience working in an appraisal desk, AMC, or mortgage operations role.
• Strong understanding of Non-QM products and how appraisal requirements differ from agency lending.
• Familiarity with appraisal review practices, USPAP, and regulatory guidelines.
• Exceptional analytical, problem solving, written and verbal communication skills.
• Customer service driven; responsive to client issues and concerns internally and externally.
• Strong team player, ability to work with general supervision while performing duties. Proven ability to manage multiple accounts, pipeline management and meet deadlines.
• Proficient familiarity with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience working within Calyx PATH is desired.
