We are looking for an experienced  Industrial / Maintenance Electrician to join our Engineered Products team. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, building, repairing, and improving electrical and mechanical systems in an industrial manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

As our Industrial / Maintenance Electrician, you will help keep our facility and production equipment operating safely, reliably, and efficiently.

Electrical & Maintenance

• Perform electrical repair, preventive maintenance, and predictive maintenance on facility equipment, including:
  • HVAC systems
  • Lighting
  • Motor control centers
  • Breaker panels
  • Production equipment
  • Laboratory equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical machinery.
• Maintain and inspect production equipment, including vacuum oil purifiers and other specialized equipment.
• Help ensure the safe operation of production, mechanical, electrical, and facility systems.
• Perform testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of equipment.

Production Equipment & Controls

• After training, perform construction, wiring, and troubleshooting of SDMyers production equipment and OEM production products.
• Build, wire, assemble, and test control panels.
• Work with PLCs, touchscreens, and other electronic control systems.
• Wire machinery using wire duct, conduit, and seal-tite.
• Apply a strong working knowledge of the  National Electrical Code (NEC) when installing conductors in conduit and completing electrical installations.
• Work with the team to properly size starters, wire, fuses, breakers, and related electrical components.
• Participate in the electrical work associated with our in-shop transformer repair operations.

Projects & Field Support

• Provide electrical leadership on assigned projects and ensure electrical safety requirements are followed.
• Assist with field service equipment and regeneration projects as needed.
• Assist with substation maintenance and related electrical work.
• Support crane use and rigging activities, including eventual minor electrical/mechanical repairs and troubleshooting.

Safety

Safety is a core part of this position and our culture. You will be expected to:

• Follow Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures.
• Follow arc-flash safety requirements and properly use arc-flash PPE.
• Follow confined-space procedures and other applicable safety requirements.
• Complete and maintain required electrical, substation, E-Hazard, and safety training.
• Help ensure electrical and production equipment is operated safely and maintained properly.

What We're Looking ForRequired Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• College, technical, or electrical education is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial or facility maintenance environment.

Technical Skills

We're looking for someone who can confidently work with a variety of electrical systems and industrial equipment, including:

• Single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.
• DC and electronic circuits.
• Electrical control systems.
• Motor starters and controls.
• Breakers, fuses, and electrical protection devices.
• Electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• PLCs and touchscreen controls.
• Conduit, wire duct, and seal-tite.
• Mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Industrial machinery and production systems.
• National Electrical Code (NEC).
• NFPA standards and other applicable electrical safety requirements.

You Should Be Able To

• Read and understand complex electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose problems and determine appropriate repairs.
• Perform both electrical and mechanical repairs.
• Demonstrate strong mechanical and assembly skills.
• Work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
• Think critically and approach problems methodically.
• Safely work around industrial equipment and electrical systems.
• Learn new equipment, processes, and technologies.

Safety Training & Certifications

Experience or training in the following is valuable:

• Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO)
• Arc-flash safety
• Substation safety
• Confined-space safety
• OSHA 40-hour training
• First Aid
• Low- and medium-voltage electrical safety
• E-Hazard electrical safety programs

Additional training may be provided based on the requirements of the position.

This isn't a position where you'll spend every day doing the same maintenance task.

You'll have the opportunity to work across  facility maintenance, industrial electrical systems, production equipment, control panels, PLCs, transformer repair, field service equipment, and substation-related work .

You'll be troubleshooting problems, building and wiring equipment, supporting projects, performing preventative maintenance, and helping improve the reliability of the systems our team depends on every day.

Work Environment

Most work is performed indoors in an industrial/manufacturing environment.

The work environment may include exposure to:

• Non-toxic dust
• Fumes
• Industrial noise
• Manufacturing equipment
• Electrical equipment
• Other conditions commonly found in an industrial facility

Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on position requiring regular physical activity throughout the workday.

You should be able to:

• Stand and walk frequently.
• Bend, kneel, stoop, and crouch.
• Work around and on industrial equipment.
• Perform hands-on electrical and mechanical work.
• Lift up to 50 pounds .
