Role Purpose

Ensures plant has the right number and type of talent required to execute plant strategy and achieve desired business results

Ensures plant realizes required levels of employee productivity and performance excellence required to execute plant strategy and achieve desired business results

Ensures plant establishes and maintains a positive work environment and operates as "One Corning" in support of Corning's Values

Assists in achieving or beating plant budgetary objectives in support of top quartile cost performance objectives while maintaining appropriate levels of HR service delivery

Ensures the successful implementation of global HR business processes within the plant

Ensures plant compliance with HR-related legal and regulatory guidelines

Key Responsibilities

Employee relations leader for the facility and the identified client groups

Leads and manages labor relations efforts for unionized workforce with coordination with the plant HR consultant, plant manager and operations leadership

Site deployment of HR, ER, and LR strategies. Coordinate and calibrate efforts with HR colleagues and leadership across the business unit to build processes in support of the vision of "one complex".

Develop and deploy people movement and recruiting strategies in collaboration with HR and operations leadership across the complex.

Manage the site-specific selection, recruitment, and orientation processes with plant HR team.

Develop site-specific policies, procedures, and guidelines aligned with applicable laws, regulations, and labor agreements.

Partner with Division HR and plant leadership to identify and implement a compelling employee value proposition that enables recruitment and retention of needed talent.

Effectively deploy HR shared service delivery model in support of HR transformational goals and required levels of client support

Collaborate closely with Division HR to understand and implement HR programs that drive standardization across the division while ensuring plant business needs are met

Function as the voice of the plant customer to HR to ensure that the type and level of services provided fully support achievement of plant business objectives.

Lead and educate plant management in development and implementation of required programs and processes to drive a positive work environment through plant management and supervisors.

Experiences/Education - Required

BS Degree in Human Resources, Business, Organization Development or Labor Relations or equivalent qualification/experience

At least 5 years of HR experience (generalist/specialist) or equivalent Labor relations experience in unionized manufacturing facility

Strong functional HR knowledge

Expert communication (verbal and written) and documentation skills

Effective at conflict resolution, negotiation, and investigations

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Experiences/Education - Desired

Master's degree in related area and/or HR certifications

First line supervision/experience

Successful track record in the deployment of global HR business processes or programs

PE Greenbelt certification

Work experience in designing and implementing effective organization structures and work processes that improve plant ability to achieve desired results— product start up, expansion, or mature business optimization

Knowledge of employment laws and policies

The range for this position is $124,078.00 - $170,608.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
