Accounting Specialist

Accounting SpecialistUnited Container Company is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Specialist to support a variety of accounting and administrative functions across multiple business entities. This position reports directly to the Corporate Controller and plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting customer and vendor transactions, and ensuring the timely completion of recurring accounting processes.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Include, but are not limited to, the following:Process accounts payable transactions, vendor payments, and company pay runsManage accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, collections, and cash applicationProcess customer credit card payments and bank cash receiptsPrepare recurring customer and intercompany billingsSupport freight billing, freight reconciliation, and related accounting activitiesMaintain customer records, tax exemption documentation, and other financial recordsAssist with account reconciliations and month-end accounting processesProvide backup support for inventory, invoicing, and other accounting functions as neededCollaborate with accounting, operations, warehouse, and sales teams to support business objectivesParticipate in process improvement initiatives and cross-training opportunitiesMinimum Qualifications:Associate degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, or accounts receivable experience preferredExperience with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience is a plusStrong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and problem-solving abilitiesWork Environment & Physical Demands:The physical demands described here must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
