Safety Manager

Your MissionLead safety on the plant floor as the on-site representative of the safety department, partnering with the Divisional Safety Manager to embed best practices, GMPs, and continuous improvement into daily operations.Key Outcomes (First 90 Days)Establish a visible presence on the floor and within the Plant Safety Committee; set the tone for a proactive safety culture.Stand up or refine a PAR (Preventive Action Report) process with clear ownership and timelines.Baseline current audit performance; implement a cadence of safety audits and close corrective actions.Organize document control for safety and training to ensure version accuracy and accessibility.Align incident investigation protocols, including effective use of site safety/surveillance video footage.Core ResponsibilitiesModel safe work and adherence to Pratt Industries safety rules and operating procedures.Reinforce GMPs (Good Manufacturing Processes) across processing, packaging, and logistics.Lead safety and accident investigations; identify root causes and implement systemic fixes.Plan and conduct safety audits; verify control effectiveness and follow-through.Coach, motivate, and mentor, providing clear, constructive feedback.Communicate effectively with employees, managers, and customers.Interpret and apply written and verbal instructions; use training and procedure manuals to guide work.Manage multiple priorities, resolving practical problems in varied, real-world situations.Maintain and steward site safety/surveillance video records per policy.Maintain accurate safety and training documentation; issue and track PARs.Participate actively in the Plant Safety Committee.Perform other duties as assigned by management.What You BringLeadership and management capability with a collaborative, team-first approach.Systemic problem-solving skills; ability to implement durable, root-cause solutions.Change agent with continuous improvement orientation and strong learning agility.High energy, assertiveness, and initiative; excellent time management and organization with sharp attention to detail.Business/technical fluency in manufacturing environments (processing, packaging, logistics).QualificationsDegree in manufacturing, engineering, logistics, or equivalent practical experience.Experience across manufacturing functions such as production and logistics.3–5 years of safety management or leadership experience in manufacturing/corrugated preferred.Competent in MS Office.Math & Reasoning RequirementsRead a tape measure accurately and efficiently.Compute percentages, measurements, volumes, and rates; apply high-school mathematics.Interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled instructions; address concrete variables amid limited standardization.Physical RequirementsRegular walking, talking, and hearing; frequent standing, manual handling, and reaching; occasional sitting.Ability to routinely lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.Visual capabilities: close, distance, color, peripheral vision; depth perception; focus adjustment.Work EnvironmentFrequent exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and fumes/airborne particles.Loud operational noise levels. #J-18808-Ljbffr
