Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: New York License required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: - Must have New York license in hand - Must have EPIC experience - Must be able to take a 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio for MedSurg Description: MUST HAVE NY LICENSE IN HAND - NO EXCEPTIONS This is a position for a Registered Nurse in the Intermediate Care Unit. The unit provides exceptional, evidence-based care to patients. The team adapts quickly and provides compassionate care using a multi-disciplinary approach. The patient population consists of adult, acute care patients requiring specialized care. Patients have continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring. The role includes care for patients needing airway management and BIPAP support. Responsibilities include managing arterial lines, central lines, and titrated medicated IV infusions. A high standard of care is expected, including the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Professional competencies must include peripheral line care, respiratory management, and isolation precautions. Additional skills required include telemetry, administration of blood products, and use of rapid response/code teams. This role involves floating to cover various areas as needed. Team support includes IV Teams, Respiratory Services, and Rapid Response Teams. Patient diagnoses will include a wide range of medical conditions.
