Job Title: Activities Leader (Life Enrichment Coordinator) Location: Ellicott City Healthcare Center – Ellicott City, MD Employment Type: Full-Time Position Overview Ellicott City Healthcare Center is seeking a compassionate and engaging Activities Leader to join our team. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading meaningful recreational and therapeutic activities that enhance the quality of life for our residents. The ideal candidate is energetic, creative, and passionate about working with seniors in a healthcare setting. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive activity program tailored to the physical, emotional, and cognitive needs of residents. Lead daily group and one‑on‑one activities including recreational, social, educational, and therapeutic programs. Encourage resident participation and foster a positive, inclusive environment. Coordinate special events, holiday celebrations, and community outings. Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and social services teams to support individualized care plans. Maintain accurate documentation of resident participation and program effectiveness. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to activity programming in long‑term care settings. Assist with volunteer coordination and community engagement opportunities. Monitor supplies and manage activity program resources effectively. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy, Activities, or related field preferred. Previous experience in long‑term care, assisted living, or healthcare activities programming strongly preferred. Certification (or eligibility) as an Activities Professional (e.g., ADC, CTRS) is a plus. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to lead group activities and engage residents with varying levels of ability. Compassionate, patient, and team‑oriented approach.
