Athletic Trainer

Primary Purpose of Position The Athletic Trainer will assist the Head Athletic Trainer with the overall administration of the athletic training program. Primary sport responsibility will be supervision and management of athletic training services for sporting teams. Responsibilities Injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation. Maintain accurate medical records and cover practices and games/events, including travel. Conduct pre-participation evaluations and coordinate medical insurance claims. Supervise student athletic trainers and volunteers. Communicate effectively with the head athletic trainer, team physicians, coaches, strength & conditioning coaches, and administrators. Other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training. Must be BOC certified and possess NC athletic training licensure (or be eligible for licensure). 1-3 years of certified experience; preferred collegiate level experience. Current CPR / AED / First Aid certification. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ready for travel as required. Ability to provide medium strength for positioning student-athletes for examination and assistance on and off the exam table. Must successfully pass a background screening. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to/from work. Preferred Experience, Skills, Training, Education Experience at the collegiate level is preferred. BOC certification and NC licensure (or eligibility) are required.
