Registered Veterinary Technician

Position Overview Cabrillo Pet Hospital is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate is a dependable, detail-oriented team player who loves animals and promotes a supportive, fun workplace. Salary: $25 - $34 per hour, depending on experience, certifications, education, and licensure. Schedule: Full‑time or Part‑time available. Location: 4134 Voltaire St, San Diego, CA 92107. Responsibilities Room patients and assist in surgeries. Prepare and run laboratory work, including venipuncture, image acquisition, and microscopic exams. Perform basic exam procedures, including dental work and anesthesia monitoring. Provide excellent client communication and education. Maintain accurate and thorough medical record documentation. Qualifications Registered Veterinary Technician in California with an active, good‑standing license. 3+ years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting. Knowledge of industry tools and equipment. Experience with proper animal handling, restraint, and fear‑free techniques. Skilled in venipuncture and IV catheter placement (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular). Proficiency in digital radiology, including X‑ray positioning. Experience in complete dental procedures and general anesthesia. Laboratory skills, including microscope use for ear and fecal cytology. Preferred ability to perform ultrasound diagnostics and collect urine samples. Excellent communication, organizational, and client education skills.
