Certified Medical Assistant- Per Diem

Job Summary In a collaborative manner, the Medical Assistant will support Medical Providers, Radiologic Technologists, and patients through a variety of tasks, including patient care management, organization, and communication. Compensation Minimum hourly rate starts at $17/hour and is commensurate with experience. This position offers monthly incentive pay based on performance metrics. A sign‑on bonus of up to $2,000 is available for eligible applicants. Education High School Diploma required. Graduate of a Medical Assisting Program required. Work Experience Medical Assistant experience preferred. Front Desk experience preferred. Required Licenses/Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire (obtained through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association). One of the following certifications is required at the time of hire: CCMA – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, CMA – Certified Medical Assistant, RMA – Registered Medical Assistant, NCMA – National Certified Medical Assistant, NRCMA – Nationally Registered Medical Assistant. In lieu of an approved MA certification, the following certifications are accepted at the time of hire: Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing or LPN or RN, EMT – Emergency Medical Technician, CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant. Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software. Essential Functions Conduct patient registration, including securing required paperwork and insurance documentation, and verifying insurance and patient eligibility. Process co‑pays and schedule patient appointments for assigned center. Coordinate provider referrals to assigned specialists. Answer patient questions regarding their care and keep them informed of their status. Inform technical staff of patient flow. Prepare patients for examination, including conducting interviews to verify patient information, record medical history, confirm purpose of visit, and perform preliminary physical tests such as vital signs. Conduct point‑of‑care testing as needed (e.g., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG) and provide patient information to provider. Stock supplies and maintain exam rooms, front desk, and reception area; ensure providers have necessary medical supplies. Maintain supply inventory levels, regularly checking expiration dates on supplies. Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files. Answer phone calls, collect and sort daily incoming and outgoing postal correspondence. Maintain a clean reception area. Conduct courtesy call‑backs for patient follow‑up. Perform opening and closing duties, including cashing out, end‑of‑day communication, and securing the building. Perform daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain QA/QC logs, troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets as needed. All other duties as assigned.
