Wilkes University invites applicants for Drivers to fill open positions in the campus shuttle program. All drivers must have a valid Class C CDL License with passenger endorsement (or out-of-state equivalent), and be able to operate an ADA accessible ramp. The Shuttle Bus Driver's primary responsibility is transporting students and other University passengers both on and off campus. Available shifts on weekdays, and Sunday evenings.The successful candidate is responsible for:Providing safe transport in a University vehicle of students, faculty, staff, and others within the University communityOperating shuttle as intended in order to transport students safely to destinations on or off campusRemaining flexible to prescribed routes, as time allowAccommodating special requests of passengerMaintaining clean and safe shuttle interiorsThe ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:Must maintain a current Medical Examiners Certificate as required by PennDOTMust have a clean driving recordBe dependable and timely in attendanceAbility to work independentlyMust demonstrate and ability to perform, extreme weather conditions, or where unexpected changes and unsafe conditions existHours will vary due to nature of position; drivers are needed for weekdays and/or weekends.Please be sure to include a cover letter, resume or curriculum vitae and three references.Wilkes University is constantly seeking to become a more diverse community and to enhance its capacity to value and capitalize on the cultural richness that diversity brings.
