Plasma Center Nurse - RN

Job Description The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) reports to the Plasma Center Manager and supports plasma center operations, ensuring donor safety and compliance with industry regulations. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions; follow SOPs for medical emergencies, develop Center Physician’s standing orders, and arrange donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical/technical issues regarding donor safety and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents, assess if further evaluation is required by occupational health/E.R., and consult EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, assisting investigations of pandemic threats in the community. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or completion of a recognized nursing program meeting state requirements. Active RN, NP, or PA license/certification in the state of assignment. Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy. Completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Minimum of two years in a clinical or hospital setting. Benefits and Compensation Hourly wage range: $40.48 - $55.66 (actual rate may vary by experience, education, skills, location, and applicable wage laws).
