We are seeking a Microbiology Technologist to work with the Bacteriology team on first shift (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM) with rotating weekends In This Role, You Will:

- Perform high-complexity microbiological testing on clinical specimens such as urine, blood, sputum, wounds, and body fluids
- Read and interpret culture media, distinguishing clinically significant pathogens from contaminants or normal flora
- Identify microorganisms using manual and automated biochemical methodologies
- Perform antibiotic susceptibility testing to determine appropriate treatment options
- Analyze, review, and report microbiology test results, ensuring timely communication of critical findings
- Recognize and troubleshoot issues or unexpected results, implementing corrective actions effectively
- Comply with laboratory safety protocols, quality control standards, and regulatory guidelines
- Bachelor degree or higher in a biological, medical, or laboratory science
- Proficiency in operating general laboratory equipment, including telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms
- Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
- A willingness to learn new techniques and technologies, with enthusiasm for continuous professional development
- Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) in Microbiology or Medical Laboratory Science (or equivalent)
- 1+ years of experience in a clinical microbiology laboratory
- Clinical laboratory training or experience in high-complexity testing
