Future Foam is seeking a Production Planner to join our Mansfield, MA facility. Reporting directly to the Production Manager, this hands-on position plays a critical role in coordinating production schedules, managing inventory, and ensuring on-time delivery of customer orders in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Position Summary The Production Planner is responsible for developing and executing daily production schedules, balancing inventory levels, coordinating materials, and partnering with multiple departments to ensure customer demand is met safely, efficiently, and on time. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing production priorities. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and optimize daily production schedules for pouring, cutting, fabrication, and shipping operations. Utilize and continuously improve planning tools and MRP systems to maximize production efficiency. Coordinate raw materials and inventory to ensure uninterrupted production and timely order fulfillment. Maximize material utilization by minimizing waste and optimizing foam yield. Collaborate with Production, Fabrication, Shipping, Traffic, Customer Service, and Sales to ensure schedules align with customer requirements. Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as customer priorities or production conditions change. Evaluate inventory levels to maintain appropriate stock while minimizing excess inventory. Coordinate transportation and delivery schedules, including routing Future Foam drivers and third-party carriers. Monitor CDL driver schedules and communicate delivery updates or delays to Customer Service. Troubleshoot transportation and logistics issues to ensure timely customer deliveries. Provide backup support for Shipping, Traffic, and Fabrication leadership as needed. Participate in physical inventory activities and help maintain inventory accuracy. Support hiring, onboarding, training, and development of plant employees. Contribute as an active member of the plant management team by promoting continuous improvement and operational excellence. Maintain compliance with all company safety, quality, and environmental policies. Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, accountability, and sound judgment in all interactions. Work overtime or flexible hours as needed to support business and customer requirements. Qualifications Required 2-3 years of production planning, scheduling, or material planning experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience utilizing MRP/ERP systems for production planning. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple competing demands. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Advanced Excel skills including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, formulas, and data analysis. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments. Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to work flexible hours when production demands require. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, or a related field. Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence and data visualization tools. Leadership or supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment.
