MDS Coordinator (RN)The Emerald Peek Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented MDS Coordinator (RN) to join our clinical leadership team.This is an excellent opportunity for a Registered Nurse with strong MDS, clinical documentation, and reimbursement experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting. The MDS Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring accurate assessments, regulatory compliance, and optimal reimbursement while supporting exceptional resident care.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and complete MDS assessments accurately and within required timeframes.Manage the full MDS process, including scheduling, assessments, care area triggers, and documentation.Ensure compliance with CMS, state, and federal regulations.Review clinical documentation to ensure accuracy and support appropriate coding and reimbursement.Collaborate with nursing, therapy, social services, dietary, and other interdisciplinary team members.Participate in care plan meetings and ensure resident assessments reflect current needs.Monitor MDS schedules, submission deadlines, and validation reports.Identify documentation and coding opportunities and provide education to clinical staff as needed.Assist with Medicare, Medicaid, and other reimbursement-related processes.Stay current on changes to MDS requirements, RAI guidelines, PDPM, and applicable regulations.Participate in quality improvement and survey readiness initiatives.Maintain accurate and organized records related to MDS assessments and submissions.QualificationsCurrent and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.Previous experience as an MDS Coordinator in a Skilled Nursing Facility or Long-Term Care setting is strongly preferred.Strong knowledge of MDS, RAI, PDPM, Medicare, Medicaid, and reimbursement processes.Experience with MDS software and electronic medical records.Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.Excellent organizational, analytical, and time-management abilities.Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.Strong communication and collaboration skills.What We OfferCompetitive salary up to $130,000 per yearMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) retirement planPaid time offProfessional development and career advancement opportunitiesSupportive leadership teamCollaborative and professional work environmentWhy Join The Emerald Peek?At The Emerald Peek Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, we are committed to clinical excellence and exceptional resident outcomes.
