Western Specialty Contractors is currently looking for self-motivated, top notch individuals to help serve our customers as a Skilled Laborer OR Foreman at our Jacksonville/Gainesville location. As a member of the branch production team, you will be responsible for the performance of work within a particular work area and in accordance with generally accepted standards of the crafts Requirements To be qualified for this job, experience in Concrete, Sealants, Roofing, or Masonry is a must. Residential or commercial experience is a must. Assists the various craftsmen in the performance of their work within a particular construction work area and in accordance with generally accepted standards of the craft Experience in the work tasks of concrete repair including small and large patches on horizontal and vertical concrete surfaces, epoxy and urethane injection, carbon fiber reinforcement, grout pocket patching, post tension repairs and concrete sealing.. Lay brick, block and stucco. Perform additional general masonry and sealant duties. Supervises workers assigned to area of responsibility to ensure construction complies with drawings and specifications and meets quality standards Acts as the competent person on the job by identifying existing and predicable hazards which are unsanitary, hazardous or dangerous to employees and halting any operation or removes employees from environments that may be dangerous May mix cement, using hoe or concrete mixing machine Load, transport, unload, and furnish experienced craft worker with materials, tools, equipment, and supplies Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary Rigging of mobile and stationery scaffolding on structures in accordance with corporate guidelines May assist in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and workpieces during installation May perform minor maintenance or cleaning activities of journeyman's tools and equipment Perform other routine duties as directed by craft worker May remove rough or defective spots from concrete using grinder, hammer, and/or chisel. May patch holes Supervises & coordinates the activities of assigned workers, establishes and adjusts work sequences to meet construction schedules, and communicates progress to superintendent Ensures that workers know and understand the company's safety policies Maintains liaison with customer's representative and advises superintendent and/or project manager of potential problems. Must work at a minimum of 30 hours per week to be eligible for benefits after 90 days of employment. Compensation for this role is determined using a variety of factors, including experience, skills, internal equity, market benchmarks, and the cost of labor in the different geographic locations where we operate. In addition to base pay, this position may also be eligible for: Beneficial ownership in the Company through Western's Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
