Vascular Surgery - Physician Assistant

Stryagen Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Surgical Physician Assistant (SPA) for a locum tenens assignment in Springfield, Oregon. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.

Responsibilities for a Surgical Physician Assistant (SPA):

Provide gap coverage as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in Vascular Surgery

Work 12-hour call shifts (0700-1700 or 1700-0700) Monday-Friday and/or 24-hour call shifts (0700-0700) Monday-Friday or weekends

Report at the beginning of shift for 0700 start times to perform handoff and rounding

Complete a minimum of 6 call shifts per month

Perform rounding and admissions for both inpatient and outpatient settings

Manage a patient caseload of 15-20 patients per day within a Vascular/Endovascular patient population

Serve as first assist in the OR and assist with in-clinic procedures

Work collaboratively with an assigned MD/DO; will not work solo

Provide clinic coverage during hours of 0800-1630 as applicable

Utilize Epic EMR for all clinical documentation

Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications (must be from American Heart Association or American Red Cross)

Provide documentation of clinical services representative of the scope and complexity of privileges requested within the previous 24 months

Submit case log of surgical cases for the last 24 months, including documentation by a surgeon indicating whether assistance was as first, second, or third assist in General Surgery and Surgical Sub-Specialties

Provide specific documentation of training and competency for NP privilege of First Assist in Surgery, including type and number of procedures performed in the last two years

Comply with COVID-19 vaccination requirements (no exemptions)

Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and credentialing requirements
