QA Engineer II

Job Description

We are seeking candidates with QA Engineering experience, to work a 6 month assignment at our client site in Newport Beach, CA (could be extended). The role is W2 hourly with Roth Staffing (Ledgent Tech is a division of Roth Staffing), so no 3rd party candidates can be considered.

• Manual testing, functional testing, writing test automation scripts
• Playright or Selenium - test frameworks
• Postman or Soap
• Needs to be able to query databases
• Basic understanding of applications work flows like SSO
• 5-8 years of exp
• Ability to write CI/CD pipelines - Azure DevOps is preferred

Role Summary

We are seeking a QA Engineer focused on delivering a modern web application with strong quality engineering practices.

This role will drive shift-left testing, build automation-first validation, and ensure high-quality delivery across incremental migration, identity integration, and complex multi-step workflows

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute comprehensive test strategies for Web UI, API, and end-to-end workflows
• Build and maintain automated test suites:
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and rapid feedback cycles
• Perform in-sprint testing (shift-left) including build validation, smoke testing, and regression automation
• Validate identity and authentication flows (SSO, login, MFA, migration scenarios)
• Ensure test coverage for multiple user scenarios
• Partner with engineering, product, and business teams to:
  • Clarify requirements
  • Define acceptance criteria
  • Drive defect triage and resolution
• Support release readiness validation in staging environments and coordinate QA sign-off cycles

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience with:
  • Test automation frameworks (UI + API testing)
  • API testing tools
• Hands-on experience integrating test suites into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing and reporting
• Experience in Agile / Scrum with in-sprint QA and shift-left practices
• Solid understanding of:
  • Web application testing (React-based UI validation preferred)
  • Backend/API validation (Node.js services, microservices)
  • Test data management and environment coordination
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Authentication flows (SSO, OAuth, MFA, token-based systems)
  • Regression testing strategies and defect tracking

Must Have
