Providence St. Joseph Medical Center is seeking an RN for the Operating Room (OR) on a travel basis. The position will start on July 20, 2026, and end on October 19, 2026, for a total duration of 13 weeks. The shift details are from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with five shifts per week, totaling 40 scheduled hours. The position requires floating between units based on unit needs, variable call on weekends and nights, and every third or fourth weekend depending on rotation and time off requests. Expected patient ratios include 1:1, 1:2, and 1:4. Special requirements include experience in OBGYN, Ortho, GI/GS, ENT, Pain, and Dental. This is a five-day/week, 8-hour per shift position with the possibility of 10-hour days four days a week. The position includes all areas in the surgery department, including pre/post op, circulating, PACU, and Endo. Epic is the electronic medical record system.

The facility is a critical access hospital with 22 total staff beds. Scrub color is any color, and the OR is provided. Parking is free. Job requirements include two years of experience, previous charge experience, and specific skills such as abdominal/vaginal hysterectomy, administration of blood & blood products, adult dentistry, ambulatory OR, appendectomy, arthroscopy, bilateral tubal ligation, C-sections, cardiac monitoring, carpal tunnel release, cholecystectomy, closed reduction of fractures, code response, colonoscopy, conscious sedation monitoring, deciduous teeth extraction, dilation & curettage, EGD, electrosurgical units, fire safety, general OR, Hana table, hernia repair inguinal/umbilical, infection control, laparoscopic assisted gynecological procedures, laparoscopic assisted procedures, laser safety, latex allergy, malignant hyperthermia, mastectomy, mastoidectomy/tympanoplasty/stapedectomy, myringotomy with tubes, open reduction of fractures, pediatric dentistry, radiation safety, specimen handling/labeling, starting peripheral IVs, Steris, therapeutic abortion, thyroidectomy partial/total, tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, tonsillectomy/adenoids, total joint replacement, universal protocol (time out) procedure, urinary bladder catheterization, and wound management.

The position requires flexibility to work in either department in surgical services and the ability to follow the patient through from preop to discharge if required. The candidate must be well-rounded in surgical services and able to circulate C-sections. Special procedures include working in a critical access hospital-PACU, ENDO, Preop, and OR. Ambulatory surgical center-general, ortho, ob-gyn, ENT, C-sections, dental. Must be able to circulate C-sections hardstop.

Travel compliance includes a compliance document deadline of Monday prior to start, last four of SSN RTO must be listed at time of submittal, post submission RTO will NOT be approved. Must request all RTO/specific scheduling requests up-front during submittal. Post submittal/offer RTO may not be considered or granted. Inflexibility beyond contracted schedule and/or RTO may lead to termination of contract and system DNR. Max of one job per submittal. Valid MT or Compact RN license (required at time of submission). Valid Allied license in hand (please ask AM if unsure). 50 mile local radius. Local rule: accepted at lower BR. All travelers should be prepared to float within the facility. Return Providence staff must wait 3 months before submitting as traveler. If yes, please include location and dates worked. For candidates on 48-hour schedules, OT after 48 hours in a week. References required: 2 references covering 1 year (6 months for CNAs) within the last 3 years during the compliance process and prior to start. Can include Charge RNs/Lead. Modules are non-billable, average 16 hours spent. Over 20 hours requires PM approval. Modules are completed pre-start, and annually. Time spent on modules is self-reported, completion is recorded in Workramp transcripts.
