CT Technologist

CT TechnologistCompass Government Solutions is seeking an experienced CT Technologist to provide diagnostic imaging services at Weed Army Community Hospital at Fort Irwin, California. The CT Technologist will perform high-quality computed tomography procedures while maintaining patient safety, following established imaging protocols, and supporting the clinical needs of the Radiology Department.Work Schedule:Monday - Friday0730-1600, eight (8) hours of work per day with a thirty (30) minute unpaid lunch periodForty (40) hours per weekJob Duties:Operate CT imaging equipment and perform routine diagnostic CT examinations.Follow established CT imaging protocols and radiation safety procedures.Apply ALARA principles to minimize patient and staff radiation exposure.Position patients and make technical adjustments necessary to obtain diagnostic-quality images.Determine whether special preparation is required before an examination.Support contrast administration within the authorized scope of practice.Monitor patients for adverse reactions to contrast media and report concerns to the radiologist.Process digital images and transmit appropriate image series to radiologists for interpretation.Use Picture Archiving and Communication Systems and Radiology Information Systems.Document imaging procedures and maintain records in accordance with medical treatment facility requirements.Perform equipment calibrations and quality-control activities as directed.Identify imaging artifacts, equipment errors, and abnormal equipment values and notify designated personnel.Initiate equipment repair procedures and document equipment problems when necessary.Initiate appropriate emergency response measures when a patient experiences cardiac or respiratory distress.Follow infection-control, patient safety, privacy, and Radiology Department requirements.Qualifications:Legally authorized to work in the United States in accordance with applicable federal laws and regulations.Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology or another qualifying radiologic sciences program recognized by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.At least one year of recent clinical CT experience completed within the previous two years following graduation.Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification.Current ARRT certification in Computed Tomography.Current Basic Life Support certification.Compliance with all ARRT continuing education requirements.Experience using PACS and RIS systems.Knowledge of radiation safety, ALARA principles, infection control, patient safety, and contrast-related procedures.
