We are looking for an experienced and motivated Automotive Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, has strong diagnostic and repair skills, and is committed to providing quality service to our customers.

As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing customer vehicles while following manufacturer specifications and dealership standards.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on customer vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
• Perform brake, suspension, steering, engine, transmission, electrical, and other automotive repairs as qualified.
• Complete manufacturer warranty and recall repairs in accordance with manufacturer requirements.
• Perform vehicle inspections and accurately identify needed repairs and maintenance.
• Conduct diagnostic testing and road tests as necessary to verify concerns and repairs.
• Accurately document diagnostic findings, repairs, parts used, and services performed on repair orders.
• Communicate repair recommendations and vehicle concerns with Service Advisors and other dealership personnel.
• Follow manufacturer repair procedures, dealership policies, and all applicable safety requirements.
• Properly use and maintain tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, and other shop equipment.
• Protect customer vehicles by properly using seat covers, floor mats, fender covers, and other protective equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Properly handle and dispose of automotive fluids, parts, tires, batteries, and other materials.
• Participate in manufacturer and dealership training to remain current with automotive technology and repair procedures.
• Work cooperatively with Service Advisors, Parts Department personnel, technicians, management, and other dealership employees.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Automotive service or repair experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• State inspection license preferred, where applicable.
• ASE certifications are a plus.
• Manufacturer certifications and training are a plus.
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills.
• Ability to use automotive diagnostic equipment and computerized systems.
• Ability to read and understand repair orders, technical information, and service procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Professional attitude and strong work ethic.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, and working in and around vehicles. The position may require lifting and carrying automotive parts, tools, and equipment.

Technicians may be exposed to automotive fluids, oils, grease, fumes, dust, noise, and varying temperatures. Employees are expected to follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.

Travel

Occasional travel may be required for manufacturer training, dealership training, meetings, certifications, or other business-related activities.
