Palmer Ranch Center for Rehab and Healing Employment Status: Part-Time Pay Rate: Hourly Now Hiring: LPN Wellness Nurse (7a–7p) – Assisted Living We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Assisted Living team as a Wellness Nurse for the 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM shift. Location: Palmer Ranch Center for Rehab and Healing 5111 Palmer Ranch Parkway, Sarasota, FL 34238 Why Work With Us? This role requires Florida AHCA Clearinghouse background screening. Purpose of Your Job Position Works in concert with the Executive Director and supports the nursing process including planning, implementation and evaluation under the scope of the State’s Nurse Practice Act and ALF requirements in accordance with current Federal, State and Solaris Senior Living standards, guidelines and regulations. In absence of the Executive Director, assumes the responsibility for center operations. Job Functions Every effort has been made to make your job description as complete as possible. General Responsibilities Completes all assigned tasks in a timely manner as instructed by the supervisor. Adheres to work schedules in completing and performing assigned tasks. Cooperates with department personnel, as well as other facility personnel, to ensure that services can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of residents. Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout Solaris Senior Living. Treats residents, residents’ family members, visitors, and fellow employees with courtesy, respect, and dignity. Meets with Supervisor on a regular basis to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas and/or improving services. Notifies facility when late arrival to or absence from work according to established center policy. Adheres to established employee policies. Adheres to the established dress code. Meets acceptable center attendance requirements. Residents Rights Ensures that all care is provided in privacy. Alerts residents before entering residents’ rooms. Reports all grievances and complaints made by residents to the supervisor. Reports all allegations of resident abuse and/or misappropriation of resident property. Safety and Sanitation Reports all accidents and incidents observed on shift No preventable incidents/accidents in the past twelve months Identifies emergency situations and responds appropriately Follows established policies concerning exposure to blood/body fluids Observes the safety needs of residents as indicated in the care plan Participates in the restraint reduction program Washes hands before and after performing any service for residents Follows established safety policies and procedures Keeps floors dry and reports spills immediately Keeps excess supplies and equipment off the floor and stores them in designated areas Reports all hazardous conditions and equipment to the supervisor immediately Reports all safety violations Follows facility-specific smoking regulations and reports all violations Reports any suspected conditions that may be communicable or infectious to the immediate supervisor Follows established infection control precautions and procedures Wears and/or uses safety equipment and supplies when indicated Uses only equipment trained to use Demonstrates job-specific knowledge of fire and disaster preparedness during drills or actual situations Operates all equipment in a safe manner Staff Development Participates in timely in-service training classes. Attends and participates in continuing education programs designed to keep you abreast of changes in your profession, as well as to maintain your license on a current status. Participates in annual Solaris Senior Living in-service training programs as scheduled (e.g., OSHA, TB, HIPAA, Abuse Prevention, Safety, Infection Control, etc.). Attends and participates in Doing What’s Right classes. Participates in the Quality Assurance program Maintains CPR Certification Administrative Responsibilities Maintains confidentiality of necessary information. Participates in staff meetings, departmental head meetings, and other center meetings and sits on required committees. Uses only Solaris Senior Living forms, manuals, products, etc. Maintains required records and reports as outlined in Solaris Senior Living Policies and Procedures manual. Utilizes supplies and equipment properly and without waste. Thinks and acts calmly and logically to meet unusual occurrences of the job without being thrown off stride. Performs any miscellaneous work assignments as may be required. Special Activities/Attributes (i.e. Participation in safety committee, mentoring, customer service program trainer, etc.) Education Currently licensed as an LPN in this state. Must have and maintain CPR Certification.
