6300 East Lake Blvd, Vancleave, MS 39565, USA Responsibilities Prepares patient for procedure, providing instruction and education to obtain desired results, gain cooperation and minimize anxiety Selects and operates magnetic resonance system, surface coils, physiologic gating devices and associated equipment to achieve desired results Positions patient and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of study Acquires IV access on patients needing contrasted studies by way of universal precautions and utilizing phlebotomy national standards Assists the radiologist with certain minimally invasive procedures such as arthrograms under ultrasound guidance Has a pleasant demeanor Maintains a neat and professional appearance Assists in on the job training of new employees Ensures charges are submitted properly and consistently with the procedure performed Ensures proper scheduling of patients to maximize utilization of time and equipment Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice Attends annual CPR and OSHA and other appropriate training programs Is responsible for maintaining continued education as required for professional licensure Attends all staff meetings Performs all other tasks as assigned Education A minimum of graduation from an accredited school on radiologic technology Graduate from a Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited program in medical imaging or the equivalent Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Additional Position Requirements Experienced in medical imaging demonstrating competency to successfully complete magnetic resonance procedures Additional education in sectional human anatomy Ability and high level of comfort in working with various people Performs magnetic resonance procedures subsequent to a licensed practitioner’s order Corroborates patient’s clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner Heavy lifting up to 100 lbs. Position requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye‑hand coordination. Involves standing, walking and sitting for periods of up to one hour. Employee will occasionally be asked to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Normal visual acuity and hearing are required. Employee will, at times, work under stressful conditions, and irregular work hours. Employee will have frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
