Food & Beverage Manager

Overview Location: 2201 Southeast Sailfish Point Boulevard, Stuart, FL 34996, United States Responsible for management of the beverage operation to include Terrace grill, Beach Club, Crossroad Café, Member wine program, Member wine lockers and To/go deliver operations. Ensure a high standard of appearance, hospitality and service in personnel and cleanliness of bars, storage spaces and dining operations. Work in collaboration with the Director of Food and Beverage to hire, train and onboard employees. Control inventory of beverage against operating budget. Be present in the dining room during peak hours to support beverage sales across all dining venues. Work with the dining room staff and develop/implement beverage programs to increase member satisfaction. Position reports to the Director of Food and Beverage. Responsibilities Manage beverage operation including Terrace grill, Beach Club, Crossroad Café, Member wine program, Member wine lockers and To/go deliver operations. Ensure high standards of appearance, hospitality and service in personnel and cleanliness of bars, storage spaces and dining operations. Collaborate with the Director of Food and Beverage to hire, train and onboard employees. Control inventory of beverage against operating budget. Be present in the dining room during peak hours to support beverage sales across all dining venues. Work with the dining room staff to develop and implement beverage programs to increase member satisfaction. Coordinate with dining room staff to push beverage program, including wine sales and education to members. Assist with development and implementation of policies and procedures for the wine program, wine lockers and beverage program. Create new innovative beverage ideas and update beverage menus. Ensure compliance with all legal requirements including wage and hour and federal, state and local laws pertaining to alcoholic beverages. Oversee inventory, purchasing, and receiving all beverages (including alcoholic beverages, wine and non-alcoholic beverages). Implement consistent pricing with all menus and in Jonas system. Approve product invoices before submitting to accounting. Ensure all venues are at beverage level pars. Submit purchase orders for products including glassware for the bars. Recruit, interview, train, schedule, supervise and evaluate bar personnel. Develop ongoing professional development and training programs. Collaborate to plan and execute gourmet wine dinners (culinary collaboration needed). Build membership relationships to understand member needs and resolve complaints concerning food, beverages and service. Work on the dining room floor to push the beverage program, especially wine sales and education. Collaborate with the Director of Food and Beverage to plan and approve the organization chart, staffing and scheduling procedures and job descriptions for all department staff. Direct pre-meal meetings with dining room personnel. Relay information and policy changes and brief personnel. Attend daily pre-shifts with FOH staff and discuss beverage-related information. Ensure daily sales are properly entered in the nightly report and Manager on Duty (MOD) report. Attend meetings and training courses as required. Collaborate with the Director of Food and Beverage to create a plan for future development. Qualifications Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must have at least 5 years progressive experience in wait service and managing restaurants. Court of Masters Level 1 recommended or WSET Level 2 Ability to maintain and uplift team morale Microsoft Office skills necessary Technical skills to manage various programs that affect the food and beverage operation Desire for future growth and professional development during tenure at Sailfish Point POA Education/Training/Certificates/Licenses: Valid Driver’s License needed. Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. Must have Food Managers certification, such as ServSafe Food Managers’ program, or be willing to obtain said certificate. Yearly growth in certification a requirement. (TiPS, Cicerone, Sommelier, Financial acumen training, CMAA training course and development seminars etc...)
