Lead Business Intelligence and Analytics Solution Engineer

Lead Business Intelligence and Analytics Solution Engineer at AbbVie's Business Technology Solutions team, responsible for designing and delivering analytics solutions that support digital transformation across a biopharma organization. Role involves data modeling, visualization, stakeholder engagement, and mentoring junior engineers on BI platform architecture and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Build relationships with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver complex analytics projects
- Design and develop data visualizations and semantic models to communicate insights and drive business decisions
- Establish BI governance standards, documentation practices, and code review processes across analytics solutions
- Mentor junior engineers on BI architecture and lead self-service center of excellence with training and office hours
- Manage requirement lifecycle, epic/story creation in Jira, functional testing, and user acceptance testing coordination
Requirements
- Bachelor's in computer science or related field with 7+ years relevant experience
- Advanced SQL and complex query writing proficiency
- Hands-on experience with Power BI or Tableau for data visualization
- Snowflake data warehouse experience including stored procedures and dynamic tables
- Data prep tools experience such as Dataiku, dbt, or Alteryx
- CI/CD pipeline experience with dbt, Azure repos, or Git
- Python programming experience and dimensional/data modeling expertise
