JV Volleyball Coach

Gooding High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as the Junior Varsity Volleyball Coach for the upcoming season. This seasonal position requires a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment for student‑athletes while promoting teamwork, skill development, and sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of volleyball fundamentals and a desire to mentor young athletes in their personal and athletic growth. Responsibilities Plan and conduct daily practice sessions that focus on skill development, teamwork, and game strategies. Organize and lead the Junior Varsity volleyball team during games and competitions, ensuring adherence to all rules and regulations. Develop and implement training programs tailored to the needs and skill levels of the student‑athletes. Monitor and evaluate the performance of players, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement. Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, and sportsmanship among players. Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team policies, schedules, and expectations. Collaborate with the Head Coach and other coaching staff to align training and competition strategies. Attend all team meetings, practices, and games, maintaining a visible and supportive presence for the athletes. Assist in the recruitment and retention of athletes for the volleyball program. Ensure the safety and well‑being of all participants during practices and competitions. Requirements Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level or equivalent experience in volleyball. Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student‑athletes. Ability to work collaboratively with other coaches, school staff, and parents. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the season). Availability to commit to the entire season, including practices, games, and team events. A passion for youth sports and a commitment to the development of student‑athletes both on and off the court.
