Job Title: Production Associate Job Description

This role supports multiple departments within a manufacturing plant by operating equipment, assembling products, performing visual inspections, and packaging items for shipment. You will help maintain production goals set by supervisors while following safety and quality standards. The position involves cross-training across different areas of the facility and requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for the entire shift.

• Operate production machinery safely and efficiently according to established procedures.
• Perform general production and general labor tasks as assigned across different departments.
• Assemble components on an assembly line to meet production and quality standards.
• Package finished products accurately and securely for shipment.
• Conduct visual quality inspections to identify defects and ensure products meet specifications.
• Use basic hand tools and measuring devices, such as tape measures, to complete production tasks.
• Maintain production goals and output levels set by supervisors.
• Follow all safety guidelines, plant rules, and standard operating procedures.
• Participate in cross-training to support multiple departments, including fabrication and float operations.
• Assist with inspection and handling of automotive glass and related materials.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production issues, quality concerns, and equipment needs.
• Adapt to changes in work assignments, schedules, and department needs as required.

• Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly.
• Ability to stand for the entire shift in a production environment.
• Experience with general production and general labor tasks.
• Assembly and assembly line experience.
• Basic machine operation experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Packaging experience in a production or warehouse environment.
• Inspection and visual quality control skills.
• Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to use a tape measure accurately.
• Capability to meet production goals and work at a consistent pace.
• Willingness to cross-train and work in different departments as needed.
• Flexibility to work various shifts in line with plant requirements.

• Experience in automotive or glass manufacturing environments is beneficial.
• Previous experience working in a unionized environment is an advantage.
• Comfort working with fabrication processes and float glass operations.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Reliability and strong attendance record in previous roles.

This position is based in an automotive glass manufacturing facility with multiple departments, including fabrication and float operations. All current openings are on second shift, working 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday through Friday, on an 8-hour schedule. Fabrication departments run 8-hour shifts, five days a week. The float area, where glass is produced, operates on a 12-hour, two-shift schedule (6:00 AM–6:00 PM and 6:00 PM–6:00 AM) on a 2-2-3-3 rotation. The environment is unionized and follows established agreements and work practices. Team members work on their feet for the entire shift and handle materials that can weigh up to 50 pounds. The facility operates with standard industrial safety practices, production machinery, hand tools, and measuring equipment. Flexibility with work schedules is important, as employees may be reassigned or bumped to different shifts based on operational needs.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ashland City, TN.

The pay range for this position is $19.14 - $19.14/hr.
