Key Qualifications:

• Certified Surgical Technologist credential is required
• Previous nursing support experience in an OR or perioperative setting highly preferred
• Proficiency in setting up surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment
• Strong understanding of aseptic and sterile techniques
• Ability to anticipate the needs of surgeons during varied procedures
• Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and infection control standards
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain the sterile field for surgical procedures
• Pass instruments, sponges, and other sterile supplies to surgeons during operations
• Ensure appropriate handling and care of surgical instruments and equipment
• Assist with pre- and post-operative room setup and turnover
• Verify proper consent, documentation, and surgical counts
• Participate in ongoing professional development and quality improvement activities
