Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to provide high-quality instruction and individualized support to students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will have strong Special Education classroom experience and a passion for helping students achieve their academic, behavioral, and developmental goals.

The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for developing and delivering instruction, implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), monitoring student progress, and collaborating with families and school support teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging Special Education lesson plans and instruction.
• Develop, implement, and monitor student IEP goals.
• Provide individualized and small-group instruction based on student needs.
• Differentiate instruction and learning activities to support a variety of abilities.
• Assess, document, and monitor student academic and behavioral progress.
• Maintain a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment.
• Implement effective classroom and behavior management strategies.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, administrators, and related service providers.
• Maintain accurate IEPs, grades, attendance records, progress reports, and other required documentation.
• Communicate regularly with parents and members of the student support team regarding student progress and needs.
• Follow school policies, procedures, and applicable Special Education requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Special Education.
• Valid teaching credential required.
• Special Education certification required.
• Previous Special Education or related classroom experience required.
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, differentiated instruction, and progress monitoring.
• Experience with behavior management and supporting students with diverse learning needs.
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students, families, teachers, and school staff.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Special Education professional who is passionate about student success and confident in IEP development, differentiated instruction, progress monitoring, classroom management, and parent communication. The ability to build positive relationships with students and work collaboratively with a school support team is essential.
