Registered Nurse (RN) - Stepdown / Progressive Care

Location: Cleveland, Ohio

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Stepdown/Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN) for a leading academic medical center. The nurse will provide care for patients requiring close monitoring and intermediate-level care while supporting a high-acuity cardiovascular and telemetry patient population.
Schedule

3x12-Hour Shifts Only
Rotating Days/Nights
- 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
- 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Preferred shift will be considered; however, rotation may be required based on operational needs.
Must work every other holiday.

Requirements

Active Ohio RN License or Compact RN License required at submission
BLS (AHA) required
ACLS (AHA) required
NIHSS Certification required
Minimum 18 months of recent Stepdown experience required
Minimum 18 months of combined permanent nursing experience in the specialty required
Travel experience accepted toward specialty experience requirements
PCU/Progressive Care experience preferred

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to stepdown and progressive care patients.
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry findings.
Perform detailed patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate care when appropriate.
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge needs.
Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation.
