Registered Nurse Manager

Statement of Purpose: The Registered Nurse Manager provides leadership and oversight of nursing operations across METRO health center locations, ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centered care and effective clinical workflows. This position manages nursing staff and resources, promotes clinical quality and patient safety, and ensures compliance with organizational, regulatory, accreditation, and Health Center Program requirements. The Nurse Manager collaborates with providers and interdisciplinary teams to support efficient care delivery and may provide direct clinical support as needed within the scope of professional licensure. Primary Tasks/Responsibilities: Leads and manages nursing operations across METRO health center locations, ensuring effective clinical workflows, appropriate staffing, and consistent delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. Hires, onboards, and supervises nursing and clinical support staff; Conducts performance evaluations, competency assessments, and corrective action when needed, and supports ongoing coaching and professional development. Develops and manages the nursing team schedule to ensure coverage at all health center locations. Oversees clinical quality, patient safety, and nursing performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and collaborating with health center leadership to implement and sustain improvements. Monitors compliance with applicable accreditation and designation protocols (e.g. OSHA, COA, HRSA, DOH) and supports audits and quality improvement initiatives. Manages clinical resources and operational readiness, including medications, vaccines and injectable products, emergency supplies, clinical supplies, equipment, and laboratory resources. Ensures clinical documentation and care processes meet established protocols, including medical record requirements, provider orders, nursing documentation, and patient assessments. Coordinates nursing services with providers and interdisciplinary teams to support patient care, address clinical and operational concerns, and promote efficient, patient-centered care across METRO locations. Provides direct clinical nursing support as needed, consistent with professional licensure, established protocols, and organizational needs, including coverage during staffing shortages or other operational circumstances. Performs other duties as relevant. Education/Professional: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Associate Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Active, unencumbered Florida RN license. Direct supervisory experience of a staff of 3 or more in a clinical setting is required. Minimum 3 years’ experience working in clinic-based practice, community health or public health. Knowledge, Skills and Competencies Required: Strong clinical knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, medications, and accepted treatment practices. Sound clinical judgment and the ability to make independent nursing decisions based on assessment. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and electronic medical records systems. Exceptional ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
