Landscape Gardener

Brief Description This is a non-exempt position and is responsible for performing a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled landscape tasks. General maintenance workers are typically part of a crew of three or more, who help maintain Homeowner Association landscape. Responsibilities Of The Job Pick up trash Blow and pick up debris Trim tree suckers Weed flower beds Spot spray weeds in granite areas Requirements Of The Job Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site. Must be able to follow company safety policies. Must be able to pass E-Verify. Must be able to work full-time (40 hours a week) Monday through Friday 6 am to 2:30 pm. Candidates must have a positive attitude. Bi-Lingual preferred but not mandatory. Valid driver’s License preferred, but not mandatory. Must be 18 years or older. Work Experience Work experience is not necessary, but is a plus. Certifications None; Skills/Competencies Safety: Performs all job functions safely; complies with all safety policies, procedures, and standards (e.g., PPE, proper lifting, wears seat belt when in a vehicle); reports all safety-related incidents to management immediately; attends all safety meetings. Punctuality, Attendance, and Appearance: Shows up to work each day on time; completes all tasks within time expectations; adheres to company dress code policy; wears clean clothes to work each day; follows inclement weather policy and attendance policy and procedures. Works efficiently ensuring that all job quality standards are met; maintains a pleasant, positive, and professional disposition to all customers; is friendly at all times. Interpersonal Skills: Treats others with respect, collaboration, and support in such a way that work relationships are improved and morale is increased; communicates well with others. Special Notes Language: Though not required, bilingual English and Spanish skills are desirable. Working Conditions: Work is outdoors, exposed to varying temperatures, weather conditions, and noise levels. Introductory Period: Incumbents appointed to this job classification serve an introductory period of 90 days. Frequently stand, walk, or crouch on narrow and/or slippery surfaces; stoop, kneel, bend to pick up or move objects; walk for long distances and on sloped ground and uneven surfaces; move, lift, and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; normal manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
