Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Telemetry Registered Nurse

Minimum experience: 2 years; 1st timers are accepted

Patient population: Adults to geriatrics

Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH

General skills and work setting requirements: Telemetry unit with diagnoses including CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, PE/DVT/vascular issues

Ratio/census: 1:4-5; 16 rooms

Unit systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR

Scrub color: Navy blue

RTO: MAX 7 days

RTO blackout dates: Spring break (April 4th-12th)

Weekends: Every other weekend unless specified elsewhere

Floating: Yes, within facility/scope of practice as needed

Call requirements: None

Holidays: If one major holiday falls in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both of the holidays. If three major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays. Major holidays are listed below: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Years Eve/New Years Day

Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time; if not compliant in time the push back is 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule.
