Rad Tech / X-Ray Tech - Full Time

Position Summary


Jackson HealthPros is seeking an experienced Radiologic Technologist / X-Ray Technologist for a permanent role in Portsmouth, VA at a hospital facility. The Radiologic Technologist will perform a variety of radiographic procedures to produce high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and comfort. The role requires adherence to imaging protocols, proper equipment operation, accurate patient positioning, and timely documentation of procedures.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations in accordance with established protocols.
• Operate and maintain radiography and digital imaging equipment safely and effectively.
• Position patients and apply immobilization techniques to obtain optimal images.
• Assess image quality and repeat images when necessary to meet clinical standards.
• Ensure patient identification, safety, and radiation protection standards are followed.
• Document procedures, maintain accurate patient records, and communicate findings to radiologists and clinical teams.
• Participate in departmental quality assurance and equipment testing activities.
• Provide patient education and reassurance during procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT certification and state licensure as required by law.
• BLS certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred.
• Experience working in a hospital radiology or diagnostic imaging department preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to operate digital radiography equipment and PACS systems.
