Accounts Payable Clerk (EXPERIENCED)

Join us at Chemical Strategies, Inc.! We are seeking an energetic individual to be in a full-time position in our accounting department. Prints emailed invoices. Matches all invoices to purchase orders. Checks, approves and enters all vouchers for payment into proprietary software. Prints original Purchase Orders and maintains the process for payment against those PO’s. Checks, verifies and enters all credit card purchases for payment. Checks and verifies payables statements from vendors on a weekly basis at minimum. Audit freight bills against purchase orders for instructions, estimates accuracy prior to payment. Answers all vendor inquiries related invoice questions. Files purchase orders, bill of ladings, invoices, and any other filing that is necessary. Prepares accounts payable checks when required by accounting dept. Maintains all accounts payable, RMA and freight files. Requests Credit memo from vendors when necessary. Prepares analysis of accounts, as required. Verifies tax exempt status on PO’s against invoices and charges. Ensure proper documentation has been submitted by CSI to the vendor. Assists with accounts payable special projects, as necessary. Creates file labels, address labels and other mailings. Helps maintain stocked office supplies. Maintains orderly filing systems, file rotation and archiving. Generates weekly A/P report and submits to supervisor. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Experience: Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. General knowledge of GAAP. Proficiency with MS Office programs Professional, positive, and customer service oriented. Remain calm in stressful situations. Friendly, courteous, service-oriented, and flexible and enjoy working with a variety of staff. Detail-oriented and work effectively under pressure while meeting all applicable deadlines. Must be able to work independently and productively with minimum supervision; able to manage multiple tasks effectively. Recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve routine problems. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals. Excellent judgment and discretion; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and handle work-related stress is required. Team player with a “can do” attitude that can work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to establish and maintain a professional atmosphere for employees, clients and customers.
