Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer with strong Telecom Billing experience to design, develop, and execute robust automation solutions for high-volume billing systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Playwright, Selenium WebDriver, Java/JavaScript/TypeScript, PL/SQL, Unix, Perl, API testing, and CI/CD . The candidate will validate end-to-end Telecom Billing/BSS workflows, backend data integrity, billing calculations, and microservices while integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Automation Framework Architecture & Strategy

• Design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks.
• Develop UI automation using Playwright for modern workflows and Selenium WebDriver for legacy/cross-browser validation.
• Implement Page Object Model (POM) and BDD frameworks using Cucumber or SpecFlow.
• Develop reusable automation components and establish coding standards.
• Design API automation using REST Assured, Postman, Newman, Axios , or similar tools.

2. Telecom Billing Domain Testing

• Perform end-to-end testing of Telecom Billing/BSS systems .
• Validate:
  • Account/customer provisioning
  • Usage rating
  • Tax calculations
  • Discounting
  • Invoicing
  • Balance management
  • Billing cycles
• Validate high-volume batch billing processes.
• Perform backend reconciliation and verify financial/transactional data accuracy.
• Test billing-related SQL/NoSQL data and microservices.

3. Database & Backend Validation

• Perform advanced PL/SQL testing and backend data validation.
• Write complex SQL/PL-SQL queries for reconciliation and data verification.
• Validate transactional consistency and billing ledger accuracy.
• Troubleshoot backend and database-related defects.
• Use Unix/Linux and scripting for test execution and troubleshooting.

4. CI/CD & DevOps

• Integrate automated test suites into Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Support continuous regression testing.
• Configure parallel test execution across scalable test environments/cloud grids.
• Use Git for source control.
• Work with Docker/containerized testing environments where required.
• Leverage AI-assisted testing capabilities for test generation, log analysis, visual regression, and self-healing automation where applicable.

5. Test Strategy & Leadership

• Lead sprint-level automation and testing strategies.
• Estimate automation/testing effort and provide accurate sizing.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce automation standards.
• Mentor junior QA/automation engineers.
• Collaborate with Developers, Product Owners, Telecom Business Analysts, and other stakeholders.
• Convert complex billing requirements into effective automation scenarios.

• Balance management
• Batch billing cycles
• Billing reconciliation
• Financial/ledger validation
• High-volume transaction processing

Wholesale Billing experience is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• 8-10 years of QA/Test Automation experience.
• Strong experience working in Telecom Billing/BSS environments .
• Strong communication, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
