Hydraulic Design Engineer

Job Description Job Overview Boart Longyear is seeking a skilled and motivated Hydraulic Engineer to support the design and development of advanced hydraulic systems for our global fleet of drill rigs. This role requires hands‑on engineering expertise and close collaboration with cross‑functional teams to ensure high‑performance, cost‑effective hydraulic solutions. The Hydraulic Engineer will contribute to system design, validation, documentation, and integration into our manufacturing and product development processes. Key Responsibilities Support the design and development of hydraulic systems for platforms including LF, LX, LM, and Sonic drill rigs Assist in creating and maintaining hydraulic schematics, BOMs, and system documentation Participate in design reviews and conduct technical risk assessments Perform calculations related to flow, pressure, heat, and structural integrity of hydraulic circuits Model and integrate hydraulic assemblies and routing using Creo (Pro/E) Ensure data accuracy in engineering databases and PLM systems (Windchill) Work closely with sourcing and manufacturing to support cost‑effective and manufacturable component selection Contribute to prototype builds and testing activities, primarily in Germany and Poland Provide engineering support during system troubleshooting, test validation, and quality checks Collaborate with team members across global engineering hubs 10% global travel for product testing, development and training.
