Job Description

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is looking to find a reliable and experienced Industrial Machinery Mechanic for a client located in Canby, OR.

The Industrial Machinery Mechanic will be directly responsible for repairing, installing, adjusting, dismantling, moving, or overall maintenance of industrial production and processing machinery.

Duties/Responsibilities:


• Repair or maintain the operating condition of industrial production or processing machinery or equipment.


• Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment.


• Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery.


• Disassemble machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs.


• Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.


• Examine parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear.


• Record repairs and maintenance performed.


• Operate newly repaired machinery or equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.


• Record parts or materials used and order or requisition new parts or materials, as necessary.


• Observe and test the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters or other testing devices.


• Analyze test results, machine error messages, or information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems.


• Study blueprints or manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation or operation of machinery.


• Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, or assemble new equipment.


• Demonstrate equipment functions and features to machine operators.


• Complete preventative maintenance tasks from an automated calendar system.


• Attend to and repair equipment relating to 'Line-Down' situations by urgently fixing equipment and reducing downtime as much as possible.


• Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


• Quality Control Analysis by conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.


• Critical Thinking by using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.


• Active Learning by understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.


• Mechanical with knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.


• English Language with knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.


• Production and Processing with knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.


• Engineering and Technology with knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.


• Mathematics with knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.


• Computers and Electronics with knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.


• Control Precision by having the ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.

Education and Experience:


• High school diploma or equivalent required.


• At least five (5) years of related experience required.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, climb, stretch, reach, and lean to perform tasks at all machines.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
