Orthopedic Imaging Assistant - GXMO-Orthopedics

Position Summary Join a fast-paced, patient-centered orthopedic team where your imaging expertise and clinical skills directly impact the speed and quality of care. As an Orthopedic Imaging Assistant (GXMO), you’ll play a vital role in delivering precise diagnostic imaging and hands‑on clinical support, helping providers evaluate, diagnose, and treat musculoskeletal conditions efficiently while creating a positive, compassionate patient experience. Responsibilities What You’ll Do Perform diagnostic imaging within GXMO scope of practice for authorized anatomical areas Operate imaging equipment safely, selecting appropriate patient‑specific parameters Apply ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure while maintaining image quality Position patients accurately and comfortably for imaging procedures Conduct Imaging Time Out to verify patient, exam, protocol, and laterality Clinical Support Room patients, collect vitals, and obtain relevant medical histories Assist providers with exams, procedures, and treatments Perform clinical tasks within scope, including: Casting and splinting Wound care, suture removal, and dressing changes Medication administration and handling (including storage and compounding) Point‑of‑care testing (POCT) Prepare, clean, and maintain exam rooms and imaging areas Operations & Documentation Document imaging procedures and clinical information in the EMR accurately and timely Maintain imaging equipment and ensure proper cleaning between patients Manage inventory and stock clinical and imaging supplies Support front office functions such as scheduling, referrals, and patient follow‑ups Provide after‑visit summaries and patient education Compliance & Team Collaboration Follow all HIPAA, OSHA, radiation safety, and regulatory standards Participate in trainings, competencies, and departmental meetings Work collaboratively with physicians, APPs, and clinical staff Maintain professionalism and excellent patient communication at all times Travel to other locations as needed Qualifications Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Medical assisting diploma or 1 year of medical assisting experience (or equivalent combination) General X‑ray Machine Operator (GXMO) certification Completion of radiographic positioning coursework (including upper extremities) Preferred Qualifications Experience in an orthopedic outpatient setting Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Benefits Work alongside a collaborative orthopedic care team Make a direct impact on patient outcomes and experience Grow your clinical and imaging skillset in a dynamic setting Be part of a culture focused on quality, safety, and excellence Our Culture With over 100 cutting‑edge outpatient center locations dedicated to providing exceptional patient care while fostering a collaborative work environment, our buckeye team includes more than 1,800 nurses, medical assistants, physicians, advanced practice providers, administrative support staff, IT specialists, financial specialists and leaders that all play an important part.
