Business Litigation Associate

A law firm seeks a mid to senior level associate to join its Litigation Practice Group in Irvine, CA. The ideal candidate will have over four years of recent business litigation experience and be licensed to practice in California, with strong writing skills and excellent academic credentials. Duties Review fact patterns and provide analysis and recommendations. Analyze legal issues effectively and accurately. Second chair complex cases or first chair simpler cases. Assist lead trial attorneys in pre-trial issues and proceedings. Prepare complex pre-trial motions. Evaluate and implement pre-trial and witness preparation. Manage small cases independently with minimal supervision. Handle modestly complex commercial cases independently. Prepare motions for summary judgment. Take complex deposition testimony. Requirements Juris Doctorate with excellent academic credentials. Licensed to practice law and in good standing in California. Familiarity with federal and state court procedural rules and practices. Ability to prepare basic litigation documents. Clear and effective drafting skills. Ability to learn new substantive legal topics as needed. Effective and reliable legal services to clients and supervising attorneys. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong organization and matter management skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
