A&P Mechanic

A full‑time Aerial Mechanic position at VDCI in West Monroe, LA. A&P license required. The role offers an hourly rate of $30.00 – $34.00, a $5,000 sign‑on bonus, relocation assistance, and overtime pay during the busy season (June – September). Job Description As an Aerial Mechanic with VDCI, you will be an integral part of our mission to provide safe and effective mosquito control. You will perform all field and related work required to service our customers and help the business grow. Your work will require commitment to safety, attention to detail, and a positive attitude. Responsibilities Aircraft Maintenance and Repair: Perform thorough troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of light twin aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer’s instructions, and company policies. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and consistent aircraft maintenance records by properly documenting and completing required forms, computer entries, and logbook entries. Compliance: Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure a safe work environment. Work Environment Maintenance: Keep the work area clean and orderly to support efficient operations. Additional Duties: Undertake other duties as assigned, demonstrating a willingness to do what it takes to get the job done with a positive attitude. Customer Service: Assist in servicing each of the company’s customers effectively to support the growth of the business. Candidate Requirements Must possess an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate. High school diploma or GED required. Knowledge of light twin aircraft and an understanding of FAA airworthiness requirements and FAA Part 91 regulations. Strong attention to detail, proficient writing and verbal skills, and a willingness to learn. Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs. and perform strenuous physical exertion, including driving, standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, and crouching for extended periods. Must be available to work Monday‑Friday and Saturdays as needed. Must possess a valid driver’s license from the state of residence. It also involves repetitive motions with the wrists, hands, and fingers, use of oral communication, and near‑range visual acuity for detailed tasks.
