Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with healthcare team members. Involves assisting surgeons by preparing the operating room, handling surgical instruments, and maintaining a sterile field during operations. Responsibilities include pre-operative setup of sterile equipment, patient preparation, intra-operative support such as passing instruments and assisting with tissue retraction, and post-operative duties like applying dressings and preparing specimens. Must be willing to take call and work holidays.
