Position Summary and Requirements

The Registered Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering exceptional, patient-focused care that aligns with departmental needs and adheres to the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Working alongside medical professionals and other care team members, the RN provides personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care by employing established nursing frameworks such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN acts as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization’s vision, mission, and values to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes, thereby contributing to overall departmental success.

Qualifications Needed:

  • Experience:
    • Required: Minimum of one year of RN experience.
    • Preferred: Experience in ER/Critical Care or hospital nursing.
  • Education:
    • Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a BSN or advanced degree program, with completion of the BSN within five years of starting the RN role. Grandfathering is accepted between departments and within our organization. Exemptions or extensions may be granted by the facility's Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and reported to the CNO Council. Facilities will track exemptions as necessary. RNs with ten or more years of experience are exempt.
    • Preferred: Master’s degree in Nursing.
  • Licensure:
    • Must possess and maintain a current RN license with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) licensure may apply; licensees should verify with NCBON.
  • Certifications:
    • Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI certifications.
