POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides planned, skilled nursing care for patients in the critical period of the ED services. Provides continuous patient surveillance for early recognition and immediate response to medical or surgical complications that may arise in any patient condition

POSITION EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

High School/GED required Graduate of accredited school of nursing required, BSN required. Current registered nurse’s license in the State of Texas required Current BLS certification ACLS and PALS certification within 3 months of hire. TNCC within 6 months of hire. ENPC Recommended within 18 months of hire Must be able to be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues. Good written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to read, write and speak English required Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians Prefer hospital experience

JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

One (1) – two (2) years of Emergency Room experience preferred. Require constant and frequent judgment and response, occasionally in response to disasters or emergencies, actual events or drills. Exhibits tact, enthusiasm, and patience. Must have excellent customer service skills. High degree of competency/experience in general. Requires good communication and organizational skills.
