Human Resources Analyst

The East Bay Regional Park District is seeking an experienced Human Resources Analyst to help with the implementation of our ERP system, Workday. Based in Oakland, CA, this is a 2-month limited duration role and will work closely with the HR implementation team to assist with testing, troubleshooting and configuring the system.

The East Bay Regional Park District (Park District) is a system of beautiful parklands and trails in Alameda and Contra Costa counties east of San Francisco Bay, established in 1934. The system comprises over 125,000 acres in 73 parks including over 1,300 miles of trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding and nature learning. Ideal Candidate:

• Quick learner who can jump into a task with minimal support and meet critical deadlines
• Experience in implementing or upgrading ERP systems and verifying processes
• Familiarity with Central Square and Workday
• Knowledge of best practice for HCM processes and handling confidential information (including benefits, compensation, onboarding, absence, time tracking and payroll)
• Forward thinker who can analyze and identify potential problems
• Detail oriented
• Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

What You Will Be Doing:

Under general direction, performs tests on current processes and configurations in the new ERP system to find system bugs, troubleshoot potential issues and work with the team to determine possible solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in human resources, industrial relations, business administration, public administration, or a related field,

AND

Experience: One (1) year of experience in human resources administration in one or more of the following areas: Recruitment, examination, selection, employee and labor relations, training or instructional design, benefits, human resources information systems (HRIS) or classification and compensation, preferably in a public agency.

License: Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License is a condition of initial and continued employment in this classification.

Ability to: possess well developed verbal and written communication skills; possess strong analytical and problem solving skills; work well in a team; prioritize work and manage multiple projects; operate office equipment including computers and supporting word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications; communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work at all levels, including a culturally diverse general public, with a focus on quality service to internal staff and external customers.

• Must pass Level 1 Background Check
• This position is designated as a Mandated Reporter under the Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA). Mandated reporters are individuals who are obligated by law to report suspected cases of child abuse and neglect. As such, you will be required to sign an acknowledgment of having received the District's policy and your responsibilities.
