About the Role

The Company is seeking a Directorate Chief Operations Officer (DCOO) to serve as the senior operational executive for its Environmental & Legacy Management (ELM) Directorate. The DCOO will be a key member of the directorate leadership team, responsible for translating strategic vision into operational execution. This role involves integrating various elements such as people, facilities, infrastructure, business systems, governance, and organizational processes to create a unified enterprise that supports world-class science. The successful candidate will work closely with Division Directors, Mission Support organizations, and Laboratory leadership to ensure the directorate has the necessary operational capabilities, organizational agility, and institutional partnerships to meet current and future mission requirements. The ideal candidate for the DCOO position at the company will have a strong background in operational and executive leadership, with a focus on operational excellence, organizational performance, and workforce development. Key responsibilities include serving as the principal operational advisor to the Associate Laboratory Director, providing executive leadership in strategic planning, enterprise risk management, digital transformation, and continuous improvement. The DCOO will be instrumental in building the operational foundation that fosters scientific innovation, accelerates mission delivery, and enhances the company's leadership in the field.
